Soundtrace today published its Field Comparison Study, examining how audiograms performed using the Soundtrace system compare to historical audiograms from external occupational hearing testing providers. The study analyzed 4,988 valid matched comparisons after a 5% outlier trim, drawn from 5,961 employees across 116 employers, 225+ devices, and 280+ test administrators.
Soundtrace results showed approximately 97% agreement within ±10 dB, approximately 76% agreement within ±5 dB, and a mean PTA difference of −2.42 dB versus prior vendor audiograms — fully within published audiology benchmark ranges for inter-test variability.
The study is intended as a transparent, employer-facing reference for safety leaders, occupational health professionals, and procurement teams who want documented technical performance data before changing audiometric testing platforms.
